Courageous Confidence

As this week leads in to Mother’s Day, I can’t help but sit in awe of God’s creations. The miraculous way a female’s body can grow and nurture an entire tiny being. The strength He gives us to not only carry this being for 10 months but to also physically bring this life in to the world through such a complex birthing process. It is amazing!

Psalm 139:13-14, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (ESV)

God created us so that we are capable of doing such amazing things as producing a human life. If we can grow a human and endure the labor and delivery process, we can do anything we set out in our minds to do.

There are days when I feel inadequate. There are days when I feel lost. There are days when I want to give up on something so insignificant that I think myself a dunce. Then I remember that I am wonderfully made. So much in fact that I grew a beautiful baby inside of me. I endured 35 hours of excruciating labor. And I physically pushed out this tiny human in 39 minutes. If I can do that – if He can help me do that, then together we can do anything.

Friends, set your minds on the amazing, miraculous works of our Heavenly Father. When you feel discouraged or lost, just think about the phenomenal experiences He gives us in our lives. The breathtaking beauty of a new mama with her sweet baby. The strength and adrenaline He provides her after enduring such a laborious assignment. God performs superhuman acts through unassuming humans. There is no room for anything short of courageous confidence when God is in your life.
