Relationship Building

Relationship Struggles

Happy ❤️ month, everyone! I love February! In my mind, February is all about relationship building and heart health so that’s exactly what I’m going to talk about this month.

I’d like to give you a little background on why I am so passionate about cardiovascular health. Four years ago at the age of 50, my father had a successful triple bypass surgery. A year later, my mother had a massive stroke at the age of 52 which ultimately took her life. Additionally, Ryan and I have several family members, including our grandparents, who have struggled with cardiovascular health problems. The relationships I have lost too soon to cardiovascular disease have caused me lots heartache and self-reflection.

It is so important to nurture every relationship you hold dear in your life because you never know when someone’s time might come. It is also important to remember that God puts people in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Sometimes you have to ask God for discernment to know which situation you’re currently in so you don’t lose excessive sleep over someone who wasn’t meant to be in your life forever anyways.

With all that being said though, it is my goal to always treat others the way I would want to be treated and to share God’s love with everyone. God values love over everything. He says when everything else falls away, faith, hope and love will abide forever but the greatest of these is love.

Love is the foundation of every relationship. As you grow in relationship with someone, you also grow to cherish them and their wellbeing. As you nurture those relationships, your bond grows stronger and your happiness and love grows as well.

It is so easy to neglect relationships in your life and allow them to fall by the wayside. I asked the following question on my Facebook and Instagram pages recently. I’d be interested to know your answers as well so I can write accordingly this month. Please leave your answer in the comments below.
