How to Create Winning Days

Get Your Priorities Straight

I’ve been thinking a lot about priorities lately. As I am getting into the groove of motherhood, I am slowly but surely trying to figure out how to create harmony with my schedule.

I tend to be overly ambitious with my commitments.

I tend to say yes to things that shouldn’t be high on my priority list or even on my list at all.

Sometimes, I even try to be helpful when I need to just stay in my own lane.

There are lots of reasons why I might overcommit myself. I need to earn a living. I am a people pleaser. I’m ambitious. I am a strong-willed, take charge kind of person. And sometimes, I might even think that I can do certain tasks better or faster than someone else.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

As I reflect on this passage in relation to my priorities, it reminds me that I need to plan my time with God first, live my life according to his directions to/for me, and trust him to provide the things that my family needs.

When you plan your life with God first, your decisions become much easier. For me this means waking up a little earlier than the rest of the house to have quiet time in the Word. This helps align my day with what God would have me do instead of what external circumstances may try to dictate.

Your obedience to His directions gives Him the opportunity to bless you abundantly. When you get caught up in what God wants for your life, His grace and provisions fulfill your every wish and need.

A little trust in your Heavenly Father and provider goes a long way. When you focus on Him above all else and are obedient to His directions, you can know without any doubt that he will provide for you all the days of your life.

During the month of June, I’m going to be sharing more in depth on “How to Create Winning Days.” What does a “winning day” look like for you? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
